When i was traveling with my parents in our car i believed that our King (yes i'm living in Sweden, a monarchy) always was driving first in the lane, in his car whit the queen. Whatever we where driving the Kings car was always the first car. Imagine that, can there be a first car in the lane? Silly or not...
When I was a child, one day while travelling on the interstate with my uncle, a car passed us and my uncle said, "Whoa, he's running 75 miles per hour!"
I asked "How can you tell how fast that car is going?" And he replied, "Well, if you stare really hard into the center of their hubcaps, you'll be able to tell." So for years, I went down the road with my little head bobbing up and down, side to side, wondering why I couldn't tell how fast the cars were going. I don't even know how old I was when I finally figured out that my uncle had just been estimating the other car's speed judging by how fast we were going in our own car.
I used to think the cassete player in the car was magic because it seemed to rewind the tapes automaticly.
Later i learned my mom was doing the rewinding.
When I was little I used to believe that cars drove themselves.
I used to think that to drive a car you had to know how to go everywhere because how else would you know which side of the road to drive on?
I don't remember how old I was, or even what we were doing. I figure we were probably driving home from out of state, because it was very late and I had blankets. We had to meet up with someone to "jump" our car which had died. I was puzzled when my dad told me I didn't have to get out. I thought "Isn't it dangerous to be in here while that car's jumping us? I mean.. it might fall on us!"
When I was about 5 I made up a game to play whilst riding in the car. The rules: Everyone is racing, if you pass us: disqualified, if you turn away from us: disqualified, if you don't turn with us: disqualified.
Yes, ladies and gentleman, you are reading a passage left by none other than the one and only "Running Errands with Mom Race" Champion. Just email me if you would like an autograph.
Sad part is, I am 22 and every now and then, for nostalgic purposes, I will play this game. Except now I can drive and have more control over how fast everyone is allowed to go. :)
I used to believe people would get in trouble for driving in a county other than the one on their license plate.
I never rode a taxi until I went to college. I always thought it was a cool car like a limo or something like that. When I called my first cab, I was disappointed to find out it was just a basic old car.
i used to believe that if your seatbelt was un-done the car wouldn't move or work at all
When I was younger, I used to beleive that if you didn't keep your hands on the wheel of a car at all times it would go out of control and drive any where it wanted to. I used to get scared when my mom let go of the steering wheel
there was a button on the inside of the glove compartment of our car i didnt know what it did so i asked my mom"what does thsi button do?" and she says "dont press it, it will make the car explode" ao i never touched the button
I used to believe when I was little that to get from one level to another in a parking garage, your car was pulled by a giant crane-like lever up to the next level. To this day I still do not understand the construction of parking garages.
Well when I was in my teens I used to be really afraid of crashing in a car.. (who isnt) but I felt that as long as I was looking where I was going and what was coming; the person driving wouldnt hit ne thing and would stop on time!!!
While driving on the parkways with my family I used to believe that all the cars were racing to where we were going and miles ahead of us there were two speeding sports cars trying to come in first.
I used too look out the car window and read the words "objects in mirror are close than they appear" (because the e got scratched off of closer) so I asked my mom to close the objects in the mirror so they could appear
When I was about 4 I heard my mom make the comment, "well I guess that they ran out of blinker fluid". It wasn't until I got my driver's permit that I realized that there was no such thing as blinker fluid.
when i was little i used to believe that in my dads '94 z28 red comaro when i would pull on my dads ear the car knew and locked to keep us safe
When I was younger I didn't understand how cars fit inside a lane on the road because when you are sitting on the inside of the car, it looks like you take up the whole road.
I used to think every family had a car and a truck since that's what we had. I had no idea why people would borrow trucks.
