I thought that to make a car go faster, you spun the wheel faster - clockwise to go forwards, counter to go backwards. You pushed the right or left pedal to turn.

Once my friend was crying because she'd hurt her arm in the electric window in her mum's car. I didn't know what an elecric window was so I presumed she touched it and got an electic shock!

My dad was always mysterious about the release button on the emergency break and the 5th gear button on his old 1983 Volvo Station Wagon. I think I used to think that the handbrake button controlled an ejector seat and the 5th gear button was some sort of boost.

When I was in primary school, probably about five or six, our PE teacher told our class that speed humps were little kids who had refused to do PE and who he had put there to punish them.

For the longest time I used to try and look down the ends of speed humps, looking for the kid!

In the 4th grade, I got into a minor car accident after running across the street without checking for cars. Why? I had heard of looking left and right for traffic, but I thought that if I stuck my head out, my head would fly off as the cars sped by. Luckily, my injured needed nothing more than bandages and a weeks worth of recovery.
