Car signals tell you where to drive
This section contains beliefs all on a common theme: Car signals tell you where to drive. When I was about 5 or 6, I thought the turn signals in the car went off because, the car knew your destination, and was giving you directions. I asked my mom how it knew and she told me that "she tells it" meaning that she sets the turn signal off. I, however, thought this meant that someone actually told the car when we got in where we were planning on going. Since I never caught anyone saying "Car, we are going to the grocery store" or whatnot, I assumed the car listened to our conversations as we entered, and from that inferred where we were trying to get to.
When I was little I believed that a car's turn signal operated all by itself. Whichever arrow was blinking you HAD TO turn that way. You must not disobey! And if you were running late for something and the car told you to go a different way, you'd just be out of luck. (Apparently it escaped my notice that the driver flipped a lever right before making the turn).
When i was a kid i thought indicators in the car were for the person driving it and that the car was telling him where to go.
I never understood HOW the car knew in which direction we want to go.
Later i realised that the driver gives an indicator to the others driving on the road.
Took away all my 'car has a brain theory'.
:/
When I was about 5, I actually realized there were turn signals in cars. Some how, whenever my mom was going to turn, those lights would start to flash. I was 100% positive the car was reading her mind. I would even try to confuse the car by thinking of going in the oppisite direction.
When we would pass the signs that said "Watch for Falling Rock" my mom said they were posted because a little Indian boy had been lost. I believed this for a long time and loved looking for him when we passed the signs.
I used to believe that my dads car had a camera under it so it could see the arrows on the road and turn of the turnsignal once the car had turned. Because it would click off on its own and I couldnt grasp how this was done.
I used to believe that my Dad's car knew exactly where our destination was and it told my Dad where to turn by signalling him with blinking green arrows on the dash.
when i was little i asked my sister how the car knew whether to signal a left or right turn and she told me that the car knew where to take us. i honestly believed her for a very long time
I used to believe that the turn signals on cars appeared because the car's "memory bank" knew where we were going (we made the same trip to school every morning in 1st grade) and was trying to remind Dad when to make the turn. But one day dad made a turn and the light kept blinking even as he drove straight...I was baffled...
I used to think that when you put your flashers on in your car, it tells you which way to turn. Like if you wer ever lost, the flashers wold come on telling you which way to go. =P
When I was little I used to believe that cars were magical and the turn signals would blink to tell you which way you needed to turn to get to where you were going...I never realized that you had to make them blink yourself.
When i was a kid i remember thinking that whoever had invented the blinking arrows on the dashboard of the car was brilliant. I believed that the blinkers came on to tell the driver which way to turn to get to wherever you were going.
I used to believe that my parents' cars were sentient because they always "just knew" what our destination would be. I mean, there was always a little blinking arrow on the dashboard that pointed in the direction we were turning. I spent a whole afternoon inspecting the cars, just looking for the little man or the microcomputer that directed them.
When I was little I used to think the turn signals were the car giving you directions I always wondered how the car knew where we were going.
Funny how we have gps devices now that do this looks like I was a very forward thinking kid.
my dad managed to convince me that the indicators in the dash board of a car actually told you where to go.
Then i overheard my brother saying 'but i don't know how to get there' and i just told him 'don't worry, the arrows will tell you!'
if only..
When I was about 4, my mom and I would be driving somewhere, and since the blinker is on the left side of the steering wheel, I could never see her click it on, but I certainly saw the blinkin' arrows, so I was convinced that the car just somehow knew where we were going...
i used to belief the car knew the way to my house because the turning signals would click and my mom would go that way
When i was about 7, i thought that the turn signals in the car told you which way to turn. Since the lever to turn them on was always on the opposite side of the steering wheel, unseeable by me, i thought that the car always knew when and where we had to turn. This only lasted for a few months
When I was a little girl, I used to think that when the turn signals were "on" in the car, the car was telling my Mom which direction to turn right or left.
I used to think that the turn signal told my mom where to go.
