I used to believe that miniature men worked in the stoplights and were responsible for changing the colors. I imagined that when their shift was over, they would come down an elevator inside the poles at the intersections.
when i was 6 i thought that in stop lights there were little mice that would run around and press random bottons. That is why people got in car accidents!!
When I was little about 3 or 4,before I learned about electricity and computers, I used to believe there were little people in the traffic lights to change the colors.
I used to believe that at the traffic lights there were little people inside the lights switching them to keep traffic moving slowly... Boy was I wrong....
i believed that inside traffic lights, there were little men that pulled a lever and the light would change. when the light was slow, i thought the lever was stuch or the men were on a lunchbreak.

I used to beleive that traffic lights chaged because of a little man inside it, looking for cars, and changing the lights according to the traffic.

And when they did, they would hold up a card with the color on it. Then people driving in their cars would drive until the little people changed the colors. I was disappointed when I found out the truth.

My sister thinks that there are elves in the traffic lights, and that they have different color butts, one red, one yellow, and one green.
I used to believe that traffic lights had little monkeys living in them. There were three, one for each light color. When it was time for their appropriate light to come on, they would jump on a little lever and it would light up. Then they would jump off when the lights changed.
Traffic lights always baffled me as a child with their mysterious powers of regulating the roadways. I used to believe that at every traffic light there was a man who worked in those little boxes on telephone poles whose job it was to watch the cars and press buttons to make the lights green when the roads were clear, and turn them red when he felt the cars should stop. Hour after hour, every day. It wasn't until when I was about six during a trip to Washington DC, I saw their traffic lights were horizontally placed, and somehow discerned from this that there could not be any little man in a little box somewhere regulating traffic, and I had been wrong all those years...

I Used to believe that there was little men inside of street lights telling the lights when to turn red, green, or yellow. The little man would just look to see if there were any cars. And when the lights were broken I thought they were on vacation.
I used to think that inside of stop lights were little elves that would make the lights change color.
I used to believe that there was actually a little man in the crosswalk lights, and if you pressed the 'cross' button lots and lots of times you could trick him into thinking that lots of people were waiting to cross the road, and he would make the lights change quicker.
