i used to believe that a civilization of gnomes lived in the traffic lights. I thought it was their job to run around and take care of changing all the lights, kind of like movies where elves run around taking care of Santa's workshops. I thought you could ask them nicely to please change the light for you when it was red. I was disappointed when my dad finally explained electrical signals to me.

I used to believe that there were little men in all of the traffic lights with three buttons; red, green, and yellow. When there was a long wait in the lights then he had fallen asleep.

I used to believe that the reason stoplights changed colors, was because there were tiny people who lived in the stoplight and changed the color on a timer.

When I was younger, I used to believe that little trolls lived in street lights; one for each color. When the light needed to be changed, they'd kick or hit the other one to let them know it was time to change. Lol!

When I was younger I used to think there was a little man who turned green, yellow, and red switches on an off at a stoplight. I thought that when we had to wait forever at one he had turned on the red switch and went to sleep. I don't know where I got this belief from.

I used to believe that the government captured little eleves and made them live in the stoplights so that the eleves could change the light. Also eleves were forced to live inside ATMs (which are actually little rooms stuffed with gold) and they were forced to hand out all the money.

When I was little and we were going somewhere on a trip in the car. As we approached a stoplight, I actually believed there were little people inside the stoplights that would change the light when it was safe to change it, LOL!!!!!!!!!!

When I was little I used to think that little garden gnomes worked underground with lots of big computers controlling the traffic lights.

It seemed like common sense to me.

When I was little my dad told me that a little Leprechaun lived in the electrical box at the corner of every single stop light in the world. If they didn't like you or the car you were driving then the Leprechaun wouldn't change the light for you and he would make you sit there for a long time. So forever everytime i was in the car at the stop light I would pray that the Leprechaun liked me so we didn't have to sit there forever.

I used to believe that underneath the roads near traffic lights there were huge warehouses.
I thought traffic lights were worked the same way as ringing bells. Little elves lived underneath the roads and pulled the right coloured rope to change the traffic lights to a certain colour.

I thought I was going to grow up to be a traffic light elf!
