when i was little i used to think the stop lights were run by gremlins and they had walkie-talkies to tell each other when to change it.everytime i would pull up to a stop light i would look for a gremlin.now i laugh everytime i think about it.
When I was little, I used to think that there were little tiny men that lived in traffic lights that turned them red, yellow, and green. I thought they would watch outside to see if cars where there so the lights would change!
When I was a child I believed there were little men in traffic lights whom seen when you pulled up to it and decided when they wanted to change them to green. I Think as I got older them little men began to hate me .. especially when I got my drivers license and was in a hurry.
when i was about 5-8 i used to believe that oompa loompas lived in traffic lights and controlled the lights!!
When I was young I used to believe that there were tiny little men that lived in the traffic lights and that they would watch the traffic and change the lights according to how many cars were in front of them.
i used to beleive that elves controlled traffic lights.
When I was little, i thought there were three little mice behind the each traffic light that would pull a string to make their light go on.
Traffic lights always baffled me as a child with their mysterious powers of regulating the roadways. I used to believe that at every traffic light there was a man who worked in those little boxes on telephone poles whose job it was to watch the cars and press buttons to make the lights green when the roads were clear, and turn them red when he felt the cars should stop. Hour after hour, every day. It wasn't until when I was about six during a trip to Washington DC, I saw their traffic lights were horizontally placed, and somehow discerned from this that there could not be any little man in a little box somewhere regulating traffic, and I had been wrong all those years...
When I was little I believed that the inside every stoplight there were a team of little men that worked to make the lights turn from color to color.
When I was little, I thought that each stoplight had three floors; one for each color. I envisioned gears of all sizes twisting and turning; staircases and ladders located on every floor; but the key element was these little, elf-like men the size of your finger. I thought of the men being short and a little scruffy kind of resembling Ernie; the advertising face for Keebler Fudge Striped Cookies. All the men on each floor worked together, every time the lights changed.
i used to believe that a civilization of gnomes lived in the traffic lights. I thought it was their job to run around and take care of changing all the lights, kind of like movies where elves run around taking care of Santa's workshops. I thought you could ask them nicely to please change the light for you when it was red. I was disappointed when my dad finally explained electrical signals to me.
When I was little I thought that the traffic lights were controlled by people underground. So I looked for doors (sewers) that would lead me down there so i could work there one day. I soon found out the lights are all automatic. D:
When I was little, I used to believe that there was a man in the red lights. This man had to go through the red light at the green light. When the red light was long, I thought that the man was asleep. My parents told me that I was not true. They told me it was automatic. I was reassured because I thought that the man must be tired. Today when I'm at a red light, I still think about this anecdote and I laugh...
I used to believe there were small men who lived in the traffic lights and made them change color. Sorta like the rice crispy fellas.
When I was a kid my dad could always tell when the traffic lights were going to change grees so I believed that there were monkeys inside traffic lights and that is what made them change
i belived that there was a little man in a traffic light somewhere and he was a Great Ruler of All Traffic Lights.
so whenever he pressed a green button in his traffic light somewhere, all the traffic lights in the world would go green etc...
I use to believe that there were mice in the stoplights controlling when they would change colors.
When I was younger I used to believe that on the back of stoplights were monkeys pushing the buttons. I figured they just jumped from light to light and changed them from green to yellow to red. I'm not sure where this originated from in my mind...but Im happy to say I no longer believe that :)
When I was little, I was thought that little elves controlled the traffic lights..
I used to believe that the reason stoplights changed colors, was because there were tiny people who lived in the stoplight and changed the color on a timer.
I thought that little tiny people changed the color of the stop lights.
