I used to believe that there were little men that lived in the boxes on some street corners and they were there to change the street lights for the drivers.

When I was little, I used to believe there were little people who lived inside the traffic lights. That they decided when to change the color. And when they did, they would hold up a card with the color on it. Then people driving in their cars would drive until the little people changed the colors. I was disappointed when I found out the truth.

When I was little, I thought that three little men would control the traffic lights; one in the red light, one in the yellow light and one in the green light.

It's obvious why traffic lights are always located at intersections. There is always a small building at the corner of the intersection (about the size of a gas station food store) in which the two little men live who control the traffic lights for that particular intersection. When they see the traffic is letting up, they can safely turn the light red without any accidents. After an allotted portion of time, they would turn the light green again.

I used to beleive that the traffic light was operated by a old scientist, that lived underground with a robot, so my dad would say " The traffic light HATES me" i would think that the man underground would make my dad late for stuff.

I used to believe that all traffic lights had elves inside of them controlling them. The elves would keep an eye on how many cars were stopped at a red light and then make the light green when it was their turn (and vice versa).

When I was like 4 or 5 I used to think that there were tiny little people that sat inside traffic lights and controlled the traffic, so whenever we had a green light and just kept going I would turn around in my seat and thank them.

When I was little I used to think that little garden gnomes worked underground with lots of big computers controlling the traffic lights.

It seemed like common sense to me.

When I was younger I used to think there was a little man who turned green, yellow, and red switches on an off at a stoplight. I thought that when we had to wait forever at one he had turned on the red switch and went to sleep. I don't know where I got this belief from.

i used to believe that the way traffic lights changed colour was by a little man living inside the traffic lights. every time the colour changed i thought he had moved, i.e if the lights were red he was standing inside the red light, if the lights were green he was standing inside the green light.
